Enterprise content management (ECM) software provider
Open Text Corporation, US, has announced plans to expand its use of Microsoft technology to cover Open Text's solutions for the pharmaceuticals and life sciences sector. This was announced at the recently concluded 42nd Annual Drug Information Association Meeting in Philadelphia.
By associating with the Microsoft platform, Open Text seeks to help companies protect technology investments and make enterprise content and compliance accessible to company employees. Building on the 2007 Microsoft Office system, Open Text will deliver a totally integrated content management technology and solutions set in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. The company's Livelink ECM storage and meta data services are expected to extend the collaboration and web content management features of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. This will give companies a single platform to manage all enterprise content from creation to end-of-life.
Open Text is scheduled to launch its Regulated Documents solution for the Microsoft platform later this year. The solution will enable companies to use Microsoft applications to manage, author, review and approve content in a controlled environment. Open Text will introduce other life sciences solutions for the Microsoft platform in 2007.
