Solutions, Inc. (VTLS)</a>, US, has announced a contract with Columbia University in New York. Under the deal, VTLS will install its VITAL repository services at the university's Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN).<br><br> CIESIN is a centre within the Earth Institute at Columbia University that works at the intersection of the social, natural, and information sciences. It specialises in online data and information management, spatial data integration and training and interdisciplinary research related to human interactions in the environment.<br><br> Under the agreement, CIESIN will work with the Columbia University libraries to establish a new long-term digital archive based on FEDORA for a range of digital data holdings.
