Library services provider
Blackwell Book Services, UK, and e-book technology and services firm ebrary, US, have announced the launch of a new eContent hosting platform for libraries, ECHO. The two companies have collaborated to aggregate current and high-value eContent from leading academic, STM and professional publishers.
The new eContent hosting platform seeks to help libraries across the globe to purchase and manage eBook and print collections within their current acquisitions workflow. Powered by ebrary, ECHO provides an effective way for libraries to preview from a growing selection of full-text eBooks; select from either multiple or single-user access for the majority of titles; and purchase titles instantly through Blackwell's Collection Manager.
eBooks delivered through ECHO feature unique research tools and integrate with other digital resources both in the library and on the web via ebrary's InfoTools software. They are also delivered page-by-page online, thereby eliminating cumbersome document downloads.
