Scopus, part of STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced an agreement with the Brazilian Federal Agency for the Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES). Under the deal, the database will be made available to 44 of Brazil's leading universities and research institutes.
Scopus was selected for its comprehensive and multidisciplinary coverage. Another factor driving CAPES' interest in Scopus was the database's research performance measurement capabilities and its potential to further scientific development in Brazil.
