IOP Publishing appoints new Editor-in-Chief for Computational Science & Discovery journal
- 06 May 2011
Non-profit scientific publisher Institute of Physics (IOP) Publishing, UK, has announced the appointment of Dr. Nathan A. Baker as the new Editor-in-Chief of the computational science journal - Computational Science & Discovery (CSD). In his new role, Dr. Baker will oversee peer review, lead the Editorial Board, and take responsibility for the scientific content and development of the journal.
Dr. Baker has served on the Editorial Board of CSD since 2009 and has begun transitioning into his new role. He succeeds Dr. Anthony Mezzacappa of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, who served as the journal's first Editor-in-Chief since its launch in 2008.
Dr. Baker is currently Chief Scientist for Signature Science at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, a leading center for computational science in the US. His research interests include computational biophysics, applied mathematics, nanotechnology, and informatics.
Computational Science & Discovery is an international, multidisciplinary journal focused on advances made through computational science in physics, chemistry, biology, and applied science. The journal publishes original, peer-reviewed research and offers an opportunity for researchers to publish all important components of their computational enterprise - such as algorithms, codes, visualization, and data management - together with the scientific results.
