Elsevier and the Society for Vascular Surgery launch new journal - 08 Jun 2012 STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, and the Society for Vascular Surgery has announced the launch of a new quarterly journal - Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders. The inaugural issue will appear in January, 2013. Elsevier currently publishes the Journal of Vascular Surgery on behalf of the Society.
Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders will publish high quality clinical and basic scientific research, case reports, venous images, techniques, review articles, and practice management manuscripts related to all aspects of venous disease, lymphatic disease, and wound care with an emphasis on the practicing clinician. The journal will seek to provide novel and timely information to vascular surgeons, interventionalists, phlebologists, wound care specialists, and allied health professionals who treat patients presenting with venous and lymphatic disease.
The international editorial board will be led by Dr. Anton N. Sidawy and Dr. Bruce A. Perler. Dr. Sidawy is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Vascular Surgery and past-president of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, and the Eastern Vascular Society.
Dr. Perler is chief of the division of vascular surgery and professor of surgery at Johns Hopkins Medicine, Baltimore. He is the Senior Editor of the Journal of Vascular Surgery and past president of the Eastern Vascular Society and the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery.

 Thieme adds International Journal of Angiology to journals portfolio - 22 Jul 2011 STM publisher Thieme Publishing Group, Germany, has announced a new addition to its portfolio of journals, the International Journal of Angiology (IJA). IJA is a peer-reviewed journal which publishes original research, reviews, case reports and rapid communications in the field of vascular medicine. The journal is the official journal for the International College of Angiology, as well as for the International College of Surgeons and the Asian Society for Vascular Surgery.
The multidisciplinary approach of the IJA offers insight into all sub-specialties of vascular medicine including vascular and cardiovascular surgery, cardiology and neurology. This breadth of content appeals to vascular and cardiovascular surgeons, interventional radiologists and cardiologists, as well as neurologists and internists. The journal seeks to provide a medium for the timely publication of current research and reports on the latest techniques used in vascular medicine.
The International Journal of Angiology will be available in print and online format, with articles publishing first via the eFirst service on the Thieme eJournals platform. Additionally, as the official journal of the International College of Angiology, the IJA will be distributed to the College's members as part of their membership package.
