Elsevier Chief fears research quality affected by improper funding -

Sir Crispin Davis, Chief Executive of Elsevier suggested better University funding to ensure quality output of scientific researches. Library budgets have been affecting scientific and medical journals division of publishers. Reed Elsevier will be facing problems if university libraries, its primary source for scientific and medical content, lack funding. Academics welcome both open access publishing, where the scientific content is free to the readers and public funded researches. However few open access publishers maintain to charge the academics while the content is available on the web.
