The aim of this course is to introduce staff from all areas of journals publishing to the complexities and unique challenges of running an open access journal or journals programme. Delegates will participate in group discussion of open access journals and will work through case studies to develop high level strategies for launching or converting open access journals including finances, operations, and sales and marketing. By the end of the course delegates should have an understanding of the key steps involved in establishing and maintaining open access journals, as well as an awareness of some of the key issues to navigate.
