STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced that Dr. William D. Steers will be the new Editor of The Journal of Urology, the official journal of the American Urological Association (AUA). Dr. Steers replaces former Editor Dr. Martin I. Resnick, who died earlier this year. Dr. Steers was appointed by the AUA and assumed editorship of the journal on November 1, 2007.
Dr. Steers is chair of the Department of Urology at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, and a Trustee on the American Board of Urology. Prior to assuming the editorship of the journal, he served as one of the journal's associate editors.
The official Journal of the American Urological Association, The Journal of Urology is claimed to be the most widely read and cited journal in the field. It covers all of the clinically relevant information needed to stay at the forefront of the dynamic field of urology. The journal publishes investigative studies on critical areas of research and practice, survey articles providing short condensations of the best and most important urology literature worldwide and practice-oriented reports on significant clinical observations.
