The Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS) of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), has called for nominations for the 2008 Emerald Research Grant Award.
Emerald will give away two $5,000 cash awards to individuals seeking support to conduct research in business librarianship. The award recipient must be an ALA member or at least one member of a collaborative team must be an ALA member. Recipients may be asked to present their findings at a public BRASS event within two years of receiving the award (at the discretion of the BRASS Executive Committee). Recipients will also be required to acknowledge the Emerald Research Grant when publishing or presenting their research.
BRASS represents the interests of reference librarians, business information specialists, and others engaged in providing business reference and information services. The section serves as a medium for the sharing of information and concerns among interested librarians, publishers, and other suppliers of business reference sources. Also, it seeks to help improve the sources and techniques of business reference and information through its programmes and projects.
