Global library cooperative Online Computer Library Center Inc. (OCLC), US, has announced that Cindy Cunningham will join OCLC as Director, Partner Programs, effective January 7, 2008. She most recently served as Director, Media Metadata at Corbis Corporation.
Cunningham is well known in the library and information science community for her leadership and vision. In her new position, she will play a leadership role in expanding the coverage of WorldCat, and in managing external partnerships.
A nonprofit library membership and research organisation OCLC Online Computer Library Center provides computer-based cataloging, reference, resource sharing, preservation and eContent services to 60,000 libraries in 112 countries and territories. OCLC and its member libraries worldwide have created and maintain WorldCat, the world's richest online resource for finding library materials.
