Child Development Perspectives publishes inaugural issue -

Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc, US, has announced the publication of the first issue of Child Development Perspectives. A new journal published in partnership with the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD), Child Development Perspectives seeks to keep readers abreast of the latest issues and trends in development sciences and opens the door for encouraging dialog across disciplines.

The inaugural issue of the journal highlights a number of timely topics such as how minimally aggressive behavior in children can grow into serious problems later in life and how modern neuroscience can address the behavioral problems that present among children deprived of a normal childhood, either because of poverty, war, or abandonment. The journal provides developmental scientists, researchers in other disciplines, policymakers, instructors, and professionals who work with children in clinical settings access to short summaries of the latest scientific reports on developmental issues related to children.

Wiley-Blackwell also publishes two other journals, Child Development and Monographs of the Society for Research in Child Development, on behalf of the SRCD. Child Development Perspectives, along with Monographs of the Society for Research in Child Development, is included with a subscription to Child Development.
