The British Library has announced four new sales partnerships with BTJ Sverige AB, Arabian Advanced Systems, FlySheet Information Services and Orex, to distribute its new services including British Library Direct+ and Turning the Pages 2.0.
British Library Direct+ allows subscribers to build their own library of searchable databases and access them from one central interface. In addition to searching British Library holdings, Google Scholar and Pubmed Central as standard, subscribers can add their own free or subscription resources, including subscription databases, e-journals and websites. British Library Direct+ also includes a suite of advanced management tools that give administrators the power to control how the service is used.
Turning the Pages 2.0 is a toolkit that allows libraries and museums to put entire collections of books online in a 3D environment, with a suite of tools to aid learning. It is available as a service for institutions and private collectors around the world.
The agreement with BTJ Sverige AB covers all territories in Scandinavia. While the deal with Arabian Advanced Systems will cover key territories in the Arab World, North Africa and the Middle East, the FlySheet Information Services deal will cover China and Taiwan. The agreement with Orex covers Spain.
