STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced that their license for two- and four-year colleges, ScienceDirect College Edition, will be expanded to include content going back to 1995 at no additional cost. The expansion is effective January 2008.
Under the initiative, colleges will have access to more content of high-quality journals and reference works to enhance teaching and learning. Before the content expansion, colleges had access to 4 years of content. Students and faculty will now be able to access content from 1995 to present day. This includes two million full-text articles across 1,850 journals.
ScienceDirect is Elsevier's major full-text platform that offers more than a quarter of the world's STM information. Launched in 2005, the ScienceDirect College Edition provides colleges with affordable access to subject packages in the physical, social and health sciences. Both students and faculty benefit from the vast collection of high-quality journal articles online, complemented by authoritative reference works.
