Scopus presents Young Scientist Awards for 2007 -

The second annual 'Scopus Young Scientist Awards' for 2007 were given away to nine researchers in India from across various scientific disciplines. The awards are given away by STM publisher Elsevier in a bid to honour and propel young research minds towards furthering science in the nation. The winners were selected by a jury that included subject experts and senior academicians.

The awardees comprised research scientists from several fields including mathematics, aerospace, life sciences, chemistry, oceanic sciences, materials engineering and solid-state physics. The award includes a Rs. 50,000 cash prize and a crystal plaque citation.

Scopus is an abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and quality web sources with smart tools to track, analyse and visualise research. Designed and developed with over 500 users and librarians internationally, the database contains abstracts and references from over 15,000 peer reviewed journals from 4,000 publishers worldwide. In addition, Scopus not only offers users citation information about the articles covered, but also integrates web and patent searches directly from its interface.
