Electronic research databases provider EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO), a division of EBSCO Industries Inc., US, has announced that institutions using patient education information from Health Library were recognised in several categories during the eighth annual eHealthcare Leadership Awards.
The eHealthcare Leadership Awards recognise the best websites of healthcare providers and other healthcare-related organisations. These awards highlight the Internet's role in achieving an organisation's business objectives and recognise the hard work that has gone into creating outstanding health websites. Sites receiving the awards were selected from more than 1,000 entries and were compared with each other by a panel of expert judges in the area of health care and the Internet.
Healthcare systems and hospitals using EBSCO Publishing's Health Library won awards in each subcategory, including Best Health/Healthcare Content for a Healthcare System, Best Interactive Site, Best eBusiness Site, Best Quality Communication, Best Rich Media and Best Overall Site.
Health Library provides URAC-accredited, evidence-based patient education information. The content is written for the lay reader and can be integrated into websites to allow hospitals and healthcare systems to offer their patients the latest information on conditions, treatments and procedures, as well as drug information and health news.
