Desktop Engineering Magazine appoints Amy Rowell as Editorial Director -

Desktop Engineering, a magazine published by Level 5 Communications, Inc., US, has announced the appointment of Amy Rowell as editorial director of the magazine and its associated properties. She was earlier executive editor of Innovate Forum, and also an industry analyst/editor with consulting firm Cyon Research.

Rowell's publishing industry experience spans senior editorial management positions with engineering and design-centric media firms including MCADCafe, Cadence magazine and Computer Graphics World magazine. She has also handled technical marketing and market research for several manufacturing firms.

In her new role, Rowell plans to increase Desktop Engineering's coverage of HPC and analysis, and to provide insight into the issues surrounding 2D to 3D migration. The journal will also expand its coverage in areas such as product and process innovation, rapid manufacturing, and design collaboration.

Rowell graduated from Clarkson College of Technology in Potsdam, NY with a Bachelor of Science in Technical Marketing/Mechanical Engineering.
