'Philadelphia Inquirer', 'Philadelphia Daily News' available on ProQuest Newsstand -

ProQuest, part of Cambridge Information Group, has announced that it now offers the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News (1983 - present) through its online interface, ProQuest Newsstand. These newspapers significantly expand the local and regional news content available through ProQuest, and both titles are cross-searchable with all ProQuest Newsstand titles, including The New York Times.

The Philadelphia Inquirer, the third oldest surviving newspaper in the US, is one of the top 20 newspapers by circulation, and has won 18 Pulitzer prizes. It has 11 bureaus around suburban Philadelphia and the US, as well as five international bureaus. Philadelphia Daily News, a tabloid newspaper launched in 1925, now has a circulation of almost 114,000 readers. It is very city-oriented with vast coverage of local news and sports.

Providing more local, regional and national content is part of ProQuest's strategy to create a total news solution for libraries, serving all their needs through a single source. The company's current news collection contains more than 500 newspapers from around the world, including over 350 full-text titles. ProQuest's news offerings include the ProQuest Historical Newspapers programme with more than 19 million full-page images from important US and British newspapers. Also on offer are delivery systems such as NewspaperDirect PressDisplay, which provides libraries with direct access to more than 450 current international and domestic dailies in full-image, full-page format.
