Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and World Allergy Organization announce publishing partnership -

Healthcare publisher Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, has announced a new publishing partnership with the World Allergy Organization (WAO). Under the deal, LWW and the WAO have launched a new online-only journal - World Allergy Organization Journal (WAO Journal) - for the global allergy and clinical immunology community at www.waojournal.org.

The WAO Journal seeks to provide a forum for rapid communications and breaking news at a highly clinical level. The journal will publish accessible, peer-reviewed original research, in-depth review, and editorial comment for the 25,000 members of WAO member societies, and for every allergist and clinical immunologist across the globe.

The WAO Journal site was launched in December 2007 with abstracts from the World Allergy Congress 2007. Original research articles and other content is posted monthly beginning January 2008. The site will also post breaking news relevant to the world allergy community as it happens. WAO members can stay current on news by subscribing to e-alerts, and RSS feed and PDA downloads. The journal will be available at no charge for six months.

The new online-only journal will publish under the leadership of two editors. Dr. Johannes Ring, director and chairman of the Department of Dermatology and Allergology at Biederstein Technical University Munich, Germany, will serve as Editor-in-Chief. The Co-Editor-in-Chief is Dr. Lanny J. Rosenwasser, a Professor of Allergy and Immunology and Chair of Pediatric Immunology Research at Children's Mercy Hospital & Clinics, Kansas City MO. The editorial board includes representation from 25 different countries.
