Indian medical library launches e-journal consortium -

The National Medical Library in India has announced the launch of an electronic journal consortium - Electronic Resources in Medicine (ERMED). The consortium will provide full-text electronic journal service to 39 medical colleges and institutions across the country. These include 10 Directorate-General of Health Services libraries, 28 Indian Council of Medical Research libraries and the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences library.

The ERMED portal, available at www.nmlermed.in, offers over one million articles in the open-access mode from more than 1,515 medical journals. Articles can be searched by using the choice of journals, publishers, subjects and keywords of database. The entire project for 39 libraries is being financed by the Director-General of Health Services.

The National Medical Library seeks to provide wide and efficient library and information services to health science professionals in India. It functions under the administrative control of the Directorate General of Health Services.
