Academic and professional literature publisher Emerald Group Publishing Ltd, UK, has announced the launch of a new journal - International Journal of Managing Projects in Business. The journal seeks to address the increasing demand for articles on project management within business. The journal is independent from any association and is claimed to be the first to focus on the management of projects rather than specifically project management. Derek Walker, Professor of Project Management at the School of Business at RMIT University and Program Director for the Doctor of Project Management, will serve as editor of the journal, the inaugural issue of which is available free online until the end of March.
Providing a forum for debate and reflection, the International Journal of Managing Projects in Business aims to provide the broader community of managers of projects with a journal that provides them with cutting-edge research and practice in the management of projects across as wide a basis as possible. As an anchor point for the many postgraduate programmes, project management students will be able to take part actively with other practitioners and academics linked to the journal through a web based discussion board.
The journal joins the International Journal of Project Management in Business published by Elsevier as well as the Project Management Journal from Wiley as the only currently available on-line plus paper journal serving the project management community.
