CCC and Online Business Applications deal to integrate licensing services into IRMS product -

Users of a widely used medical information software package from Online Business Applications, US, can now license published content from medical journals, books and other content sources with ease through non-profit copyright licensing solutions provider Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), US. The two companies have integrated CCC's licensing services into Online Business Applications' core Information Request Management System (IRMS) product.

IRMS users can now quickly check prices and obtain permissions from publishers to distribute content to physicians. IRMS is used at more than 60 pharmaceutical and biotech companies in North America and Europe. Its document management and customer support services help content managers respond quickly to doctors seeking articles and documentation on medications and treatment options.

Online Business Applications, a company which seeks to serves the unique software and solution needs of the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries, is the latest to join CCC's Rightsconnect programme. The Rightsconnect programme makes it easy for publishers, content aggregators and other distributors to link online articles, chapters, abstracts and other content directly to CCC's permission services. Other partners who have integrated CCC's easy-to-use licensing capabilities into their own services through the Rightsconnect programme include Elsevier, Xerox, SirsiDynix, ExLibris and HighWire Press.
