British Journal of Infection Control to change name to Journal of Infection Prevention -

The British Journal of Infection Control, published by academic publisher SAGE, will be changing its name to Journal of Infection Prevention, effective January 2009.

Following the transition of the Infection Control Nurses Association to the Infection Prevention Society (IPS) in September 2007, this name change reflects the society's goal to promote that infection, particularly when associated with healthcare, is to be prevented rather than just controlled. The name change is projected to help support the journal's growth as a valued resource for all professionals interested in infection prevention and control. The journal's website on SAGE Journals Online will also change and further details will be available later this year.

The British Journal of Infection Control is a peer-reviewed professional journal for all workers in infection prevention and control. The journal seeks to advance the evidence base in infection prevention and control, and to provide a publishing platform for all health professionals interested in this field of practice.
