Thieme Publishers, part of STM publisher Thieme Publishing Group, Germany, has announced the release of 'Surgery of the Pediatric Spine,' a single-volume reference for managing pediatric spinal disorders and diseases. The book, written by neurosurgical and orthopaedic surgeons specialising in pediatric spinal disorders, is projected as a comprehensive multi-disciplinary reference tool for surgical management of the most frequently encountered spinal problems of the pediatric patient.
Chapters, grouped in easy-to-reference sections, are organised by problem type ranging from congenital anomalies and developmental disorders to trauma and deformities. Both orthopaedic and neurosurgical view points are discussed throughout the book. An overview of developmental and clinical aspects has been provided, presenting essential information on surgical anatomy, biomechanics, neuroimaging, preoperative evaluation, anesthesia, and neurophysiological monitoring.
Additional highlights include clinical insights from prominent experts in the fields of neurosurgery, pediatric neurosurgery, and orthopedics. More than 1,000 illustrations and numerous cases illustrate management principles and treatment outcomes.
