Healthcare education and information provider CMPMedica, UK, part of United Business Media plc, has announced that it has expanded SearchMedica.com to include a number of additional vertical search applications for specialist medical conditions. The extension is part of CMPMedica's ongoing strategy to widen the scope of the service to satisfy the information and workflow requirements of every major medical domain.
SearchMedica.com, which was co-developed with Convera, is an advertising supported web-based service that connects physicians and other medical professionals to credible, trusted and editorially approved medical web sites, online journals and other clinical resources.
The service has been serving primary healthcare professionals in North America, the UK, France and Spain, and psychiatry and oncology specialists in North America. Since its launch in late 2006, the popularity of the service is projected to have risen dramatically, currently generating millions of queries per month.
