Disaster Medicine & Public Health Preparedness journal to be indexed in MEDLINE -

Healthcare publisher Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, and the American Medical Association (AMA) have announced that their journal Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness has been selected for indexing by MEDLINE, the US National Library of Medicine's (NLM) premier bibliographic database.

Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness is claimed to be the first comprehensive and authoritative journal emphasising public health preparedness and disaster response. Each issue presents original research, critical analysis, and commentary, with an emphasis on translating scientific concepts into practice and integrating the medical and public health perspectives. The journal seeks to support all health care and public health professionals to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their role as stewards of the health and security of citizens worldwide.

MEDLINE is the leading tool for online searching of the health sciences literature in the US and worldwide. Hundreds of journals are considered each year to be indexed by and included in Index Medicus/MEDLINE. Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness becomes one of the nearly 5,250 total journals included. Each quarterly issue, including previous issues, will be fully indexed, including medical subject headings.
