e-resource access and management solutions provider TDNet Ltd., US, has partnered with the British Library (BL), UK, to develop a new subscription-based service, British Library Direct Plus. The service combines TDNet's federated search and post search analysis with article level data that allows BL to provide enhanced online item selection and ordering to document supply customers.
British Library Direct Plus features an interface that enables users to simultaneously search BL's own Electronic Table of Contents, PubMed Central and Google Scholar as well as other external and internal databases as pre-selected by the library. Navigation through on-the-fly generated subject clustering enhances the user's recognition of the most meaningful search results and facilitates browsing of relevant content. The solution offers optional features and modules, such as A to Z Journal & eBook Manager, Open URL Resolver, Statistics Manager, and more.
TDNet offers its federated search and analysis platform to the institutional market under the name of Searcher Analyzer. The company customises its application to meet the specific requirements of academic libraries, corporate and government information centers. In addition to federated searching and analysis, personal profiling and alerting, Searcher Analyzer provides advanced administration tools for the library.
