Agricultural publisher CABI has announced that it has appointed consultancy firm Semantico to redevelop its flagship online delivery platform, CAB Direct. Semantico's strengths in user centred design and information architecture are expected to help it deliver an improved user experience for CABI's customers.
The CAB Direct platform hosts the applied life sciences bibliographic databases, CAB Abstracts and Global Health, providing access to these resources directly from CABI.
According to the company, seamless content discovery will be at the centre of the new CAB Direct platform. The approach is seen to give CABI maximum flexibility to re-use its bibliographic databases and discovery services in new ways in the future.
This development project will take place during 2008, with the release of the enhanced CAB Direct platform scheduled for early 2009.
