Serials Solutions, a business unit of ProQuest, US, has announced that the California Digital Library (CDL) has chosen Serials Solutions 360 Resource Manager and 360 Counter to manage and assess its electronic resources and shared licensing activities.
CDL's rigorous evaluation process, including a detailed set of functional and business requirements, determined that a hosted solution would be preferable to a locally managed system for operational and staffing reasons. After in-house demonstrations and testing, CDL signed a 5-year subscription agreement for 360 Resource Manager and 360 Counter.
360 Resource Manager will allow the library to control licensing, e-resource lifecycles, cost, collections, overlap analysis and more, using Serials Solutions' integrated KnowledgeWorks knowledgebase. CDL has also purchased Serials Solutions 360 Counter e-resource assessment service to provide accurate, COUNTER-compliant usage analysis of cost data tracked within 360 Resource Manager. All ten University of California campuses will have read-only access to CDL data tracked in both 360 Resource Manager and 360 Counter.
