Ovid, part of Wolters Kluwer Health and a developer of customisable electronic research information for the STM market, has announced the launch of Ovid Universal Search, a new, premium cross-platform search solution. The tool is now available on OvidSP, an information precision search and discovery platform.
The new offering seeks to deliver all search functionalities, access to full text and workflow management tools within one platform. According to the company, end users had been urging its librarian partners to select an easy-to-use platform that cuts down on redundant searching and speeds workflow. Ovid Universal Search, available as an optional, premium feature, allows users to search across boundaries and save and manage their results, regardless of the source, within a single platform.
Users can expect to simultaneously search all of their institution's subscribed content wherever it resides, whether it is available on OvidSP, free sites such as PubMed, or other subscription platforms. OvidSP and search results from other sources are displayed in an easy-to-read tabular format. Users can also leverage many of OvidSP's search and workflow tools to refine, manage and save results retrieved through Ovid Universal Search.
