The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishing (ALPSP), the international trade association for scholarly and professional publishers, is conducting a workshop for acquiring and selling publishing content. The workshop is designed for senior editorial/publishing managers, directors and managing directors involved in the process of buying or selling content or publications or considering how to do so in future.
The event, scheduled for November 28, 2008, will examine the issues, decisions and legal processes involved in the acquisition and sale of content or publications and demonstrate how to achieve these as successfully and smoothly as possible. Apart from focusing on sales and asset purchase, it will also touch upon the considerations for buying or selling a company.
The ALPSP has over 350 organisational members in 37 countries who collectively publish over 10,000 journals as well as books, databases and other products. The association seeks to connect, train and inform the scholarly and professional publishing community and to be an advocate on behalf of the non-profit publishing sector.
