Healthcare publisher Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, received 19 different awards for writing, editing and design in the annual awards competition of the American Society of Healthcare Publications Editors (ASHPE). The awards include six gold, six silver and seven bronze awards. A complete range of LWW nursing and medical journals received awards.
LWW swept the cover design category, receiving gold, silver, and bronze awards for cover illustrations on Nurse Practitioner, Nursing2007, and American Journal of Nursing. LWW also won the gold and silver awards for the best new journals: Heart Insight and OR Nurse2007. The gold and bronze for best feature articles went to Nursing Made Incredibly Easy! and AJN, while Nursing2007 and Nursing Management received silver and bronze for the best feature article series.
LWW's writers were also recognised for individual talent. Diana Mason, editor of AJN, won a gold award for signed editorial, and Emergency Medicine News's Dr. Edwin Leap, received the gold award for a regular contributor column.
