The Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) has announced the launch of the new online archive for its journal Human Organization. Offering content back to the first issue published in 1941, the archive provides an historical record of the field's development and accomplishments. The archive is hosted by MetaPress at http://sfaa.metapress.com.
The journal's primary objective is the scientific investigation of the principles controlling the relations of human beings to one another and the wide application of these principles to practical problems. The archive contains over 3,000 papers that focus on concepts of social/behavioural science and issues and problems in the contemporary world with regular sections on government and industry, health and medical care, and international affairs. Currently, the archive contains papers from Volume 20 (1964) to Volume 67 (2008), with content from Volume 1 (1941) to Volume 19 (1963) being added throughout 2009.
The archive includes content for Human Organization and for the predecessor journal that was named Applied Anthropology from 1941 to 1949. The Society for Applied Anthropology encourages interdisciplinary scientific investigation of the principles controlling the relations of human beings to one another, and the encouragement of the wide application of these principles to practical problems. The archive is available to subscribers and members as an added bonus with their standard subscription. A subscription to the journal and its archive can also be purchased directly from the Human Organization journal homepage at http://sfaa.metapress.com/openurl.asp?genre=journal&issn=0018-7259. Access is available immediately after purchase.
