China's Higher Education Press selects Manuscript Central for the online journal management -

The Scientific business of Thomson Reuters, US, has announced that China's Higher Education Press (HEP) has chosen Manuscript Central for the online journal management of 'Frontiers of Computer Science in China', a series of journals initiated and supported by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.

Launched in January 2007, 'Frontiers of Computer Science in China' is part of the 'Frontiers in China' quality journal series which aims to provide a forum for the publication of the best of China's peer-reviewed papers in English. The 'Frontiers in China' series is the most extensive English series of journals in China, both print and online, to cover the widest range of subjects including natural sciences, humanities and social sciences which span 24 important disciplines.

Manuscript Central will allow HEP to manage the entire online journal management process of this published series of scholarly research in China easily, thereby promoting closer engagement between Chinese authors and the international publishing and science community. The process comprises journal submission, peer review, tracking and editing-process control.

Manuscript Central automates manuscript submission to journals and allows for easy and efficient administrative, editing and reviewing capabilities, so its customers can focus on content, not on process. Currently, Manuscript Central is used by 12 million registered users worldwide comprising authors, reviewers and editors. By adopting a system, which so many global researchers are familiar with, HEP aims to encourage authors, reviewers and editors to work with HEP journals.

Thomson Reuters recently launched ISI Web of Knowledge and EndNote Web in Simplified Chinese globally. The company plans to launch a Simplified Chinese version of Manuscript Central in February 2009 to help science researchers in China improve their published output and engagement with a wider audience.
