Professional Engineering Publishing (PE Publishing), the publishing arm of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), UK, has launched a new service called InPress. Researchers can now access new papers from PE Publishing journals much earlier than ever before. Papers accepted for publication are now being made available online as uncorrected proofs. Each paper has a DOI and is fully searchable and citable. Papers are assigned to an issue upon publication in print.
InPress allows the publication of fully citable articles up to 8 weeks or more before publication in a printed journal issue. The service was launched with the aim of providing researchers with earlier access to new material, and giving authors the assurance that their papers are receiving maximum exposure. Interested parties can visit individual journal homepages at http://journals.pepublishing.com/ for the latest papers. Current InPress papers are accessible by clicking the link displayed above the latest issue of each publication. While full text InPress articles are available to subscribers only, abstracts are available free of charge.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of IMechE, PE Publishing publishes 18 journals across a variety of subjects of interest to the international engineering community. Sixteen journals are grouped within the Proceedings of the IMechE, each with its own identity and international editorial board.
