Academic publisher SAGE is set to launch a new journal for pediatric nutrition specialists. The journal, ICAN: Infant, Child, & Adolescent Nutrition, is expected to reach 11,000 primary caregivers treating patients in pediatric nutrition.
Scheduled for launch later this month, ICAN will serve as a bimonthly resource and forum for health care professionals involved in the nutritional care of children from birth through adolescence. The journal will provide practical information derived from research and practice. It will publish peer-reviewed articles translating original basic and clinical nutrition research for clinicians, evidence-based practice innovations, research reviews, commentaries relating to pediatric nutrition and eating behavior, case reports, roundtable discussions, practice tips, media reviews, and alerts to new sources of information for clinicians.
Among the groups that ICAN will reach is the more than 3,000 members of Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group (PNPG) of the American Dietetic Association. PNPG members include pediatric registered dietitians (RDs), dietetic technicians, registered (DTRs), and other ADA members who recognise the vital role of good nutrition in the growth and development of infants, children and adolescents.
