The Scientific business of Thomson Reuters has announced the addition of new features to Citation Impact Center. Citation Impact Center is a web-based resource devoted to scholarly resources and discussion about the many facets of citation-based evaluation.
The Citation Impact Center, formally the Citation Impact Forum, now features interviews and commentary from industry leaders - bibliometricians, researchers and publishers - about scholarly evaluation. In addition, with a streamlined site registration, visitors can take part in a discussion on the published articles. Industry experts are encouraged to submit articles and commentary for publication to the site. The latest commentary piece, 'Preserving the Integrity of the Impact Factor,' discusses recommended guidelines for the proper use and interpretation of the Impact Factor.
Thomson Reuters also will use the Center as a venue to address appropriate use and interpretation of research metrics circulating among the scientific community and being published via journals, blogs and other forums.
