Nature Publishing Group and ADMC launch new OA journal - Cell Death & Disease -

Scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group (NPG), UK, and the Associazione Differenziamento e Morte Cellulare (ADMC) have announced the launch of a new open access journal - Cell Death & Disease. Published by NPG the ADMC, the journal explores the area of cell death from a translational medicine perspective.

Cell Death & Disease is devoted to the biology of cell death in the pathogenesis of human diseases or relevant animal models. The journal will publish articles weekly as they are ready; offering authors a rapid decision and publication service. All articles are freely available online immediately on publication, published under Creative Commons licenses. An article-processing charge of $3,000 is levied per article accepted for publication. The journal is live at www.nature.com/cddis. More than 20 articles have already been accepted, many of which will be online in the journal's first week of publication.

Cell Death & Disease is NPG's second open access journal. Molecular Systems Biology, launched in 2005, is published by NPG in partnership with the European Molecular Biology Organization. In addition, NPG offers open access options on 15 of its academic and society journals. In April 2010, the publisher will introduce Nature Communications, the first Nature-branded online-only journal with an open access option.
