The Association of Learned and Professional Publishers has announced that Ann Lawson, Senior Publisher Relations Executive (Europe), EBSCO, will Chair ALPSP’s Professional Development Committee. She succeeds Jane Moody who has had a successful tenure as Chair during which average attendance at ALPSP seminars increased by more than 50 percent.
The Chair of the Professional Development Committee is also an ex officio member of the governing Council of ALPSP which Lawson will join with immediate effect. The Professional Development Committee oversees ALPSP’s programme of seminars, briefings and updates in the UK.
Lawson has extensive and broad experience of the scholarly publishing environment. Having held roles at Oxford University Press and in academia as a Research Fellow in the field of corpus linguistics, she has experience of both publishing and editing journals.
