SciVee, a video platform solutions provider to the STM market, has announced that STM and scholarly publisher Wiley-Blackwell has agreed to conduct a trial of the SciVee video platform for several of its life sciences journals.
The three-month trial is designed to test how SciVee products and services can supplement and enhance Wiley-Blackwell journals to increase article views, broaden reader interest and promote authors. Wiley-Blackwell publishes nearly 1,500 peer-reviewed journals and over 1,500 new books annually, as well as databases, major reference works and laboratory protocols.
This test primarily focuses on SciVee PubCast, which is a synchronised video abstract that enables a reader to see the author discuss highlighted sections of a journal article in a full multimedia presentation online. It provides a more dynamic way to absorb and retain knowledge than a text-only abstract. A PubCast promotes greater interest in the author's work and increases its impact through broad distribution on the Internet.
