Academic publisher SAGE and Index on Censorship, Britain’s leading organisation promoting freedom of expression, have announced a new award that will recognise the significant contribution made by the publishing industry to promoting freedom of expression. The SAGE International Publishing Award will be presented at the 10th annual Index of Censorship Freedom of Expression Awards, scheduled for March 25, 2010.
The award will recognise the role of the publisher in facilitating diverse and extreme points of view through both print and online publications. The Index on Censorship Freedom of Expression Awards are featured by the BBC, major national newspapers, and national radio, as well as internationally, giving publishers a major opportunity to profile their work.
Nominations for the SAGE International Publishing Award are invited now. The deadline for entries is 4 p.m. January 29, 2010.
