Analytics firm Net Applications, US, has released a new monthly browser usage data, according to which more people are browsing the web via an iPad than on an Android-powered device. Apple's iPad currently holds a 0.17 percent share in web browser traffic tracked by Net Applications.
In June 2010, iPad managed to exceed Android, which represented 0.14 percent web traffic. Apple's iPod Touch came third with 0.12 percent of the web browser share.
The iPad has witnessed a steady rise since its release in April 2010, when it was available only in the US, and represented 0.03 of the web browser market share. In May, the numbers tripled to 0.09 percent. Further, the numbers nearly doubled again in June to the 0.17 percent figure that pushed it past Android.
In less than two weeks after launch, the iPad had tied BlackBerry and Android in web browsing presence. The latest figures show that the iPad has grown to a level where its browser was consistently larger than Android's through the month of June.
