Content technology and consultative services provider EBSCO is sponsoring a $1,000 scholarship for a librarian to attend the 30th Annual Charleston Conference on November 3-6, 2010 in Charleston, SC, for the second year. To be considered for the scholarship, applicants are required to submit a short essay that details how their library is 'Using Technology to Address Challenging Times' by September 17, 2010.
Judges for this year's EBSCO scholarship are Katina Strauch, head of collection development, College of Charleston; Rick Anderson, associate director for scholarly resources & collections; J. Willard Marriott Library, University of Utah; and Kittie Henderson, director of academic and law divisions, EBSCO.
To be considered as a candidate, librarians must currently work as a librarian and provide one professional recommendation, a Curriculum Vitae and submit a short essay of up to 1,000 words.
All application documents should be sent electronically to Addie Hall at EBSCO ( ahall@ebsco.com) by September 17, 2010. The winner will be notified by October 6, 2010.
