The UK's Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) has announced that David Puttnam, Lord Puttnam of Queensgate, will consider the potential impact of a major, positive disruption to the way the world approaches learning and teaching at the sixth JISC online e-learning conference on November 22-25, 2011.
Lord Puttnam, who is a renowned speaker and Chairman of FutureLab, will share with participants his view on how pedagogy is going digital, in what is likely to be a controversial and challenging keynote.
Other expert speakers at the conference include Bill Rammell, deputy vice-chancellor at the Plymouth University; Mike Sharples, professor of educational technology at the Institute of Educational Technology, The Open University; and Ewan McIntosh chief executive at educational consultancy NoTosh and expert speaker on finding creative ways of using emerging technologies in education.
Participants at the conference will be able to pose questions to the speakers and join in discussions from the comfort of their own workplace, using the Blackboard Collaborate platform followed by asynchronous discussions.
In order to help participants make full use of the networking and discussion opportunities, participants will be able to prepare for the event ahead of time in a pre-conference activity week.
