Sigma Theta Tau International, the organisation which seeks to offer all nurses worldwide online access to nursing information that can be easily utilised and shared, has announced the launch of its new library repository. Built in conjunction with BioMed Central's Open Repository, the Virginia Henderson Library Repository will offer individuals access to nursing information and conference proceedings.
Recent advances in Internet technologies and wider policies regarding mandatory open access to published articles influenced Sigma Theta Tau International to expand their online Registry of Nursing Research abstract database into a new, full-text service with Open Repository.
Open Repository is built upon the latest version of DSpace, an open-source solution for accessing, managing and preserving scholarly works. Customers of Open Repository benefit from updated system features not only from DSpace themselves, but also from BioMed Central's team who are continually working to enhance their repository service.
