American Medical Association’s Physician Consortium marks decade of measure development -

The American Medical Association’s Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.

The AMA-convened Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (PCPI) is committed to enhancing quality of care and patient safety by taking the lead in the development, testing, and maintenance of evidence-based clinical performance measures and measurement resources for physicians. The initiative has developed 270 measures in 43 clinical areas and has members from 170 organisations, including specialty and state medical societies.

The National Quality Forum has endorsed many of the consortium's measures.
