The Worldwide Innovative Networking (WIN) Consortium, supported by its media partner Nature Publishing Group, has opened registration for the second annual WIN Symposium. To be held in the Palais des Congrès, Paris, from July 7-9, 2010, the WIN Symposium is an open and interactive forum designed to promote rapid translation of ground-breaking personalised cancer medicine discoveries to clinical practice.
The event has received the endorsement of major oncology organisations around the world, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI). The WIN Consortium is a joint initiative of the Institut Gustave Roussy (France) and The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center (USA), in association with several other leading cancer care institutions in Europe, the US, Canada and Asia.
It has been observed that clinical researchers, working in academia and the pharmaceutical industry, are starting to make real progress in understanding tumor pathology and identifying which patients will respond best to particular treatments. The WIN Consortium seeks to aid the rapid translation of personalised cancer medicine discoveries from the bench to the bedside.
