Lippincott Williams & Wilkins releases first e-book titles in Washington Manual Subspecialty Consult Series -

Healthcare publisher Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, US, has announced the release of the first e-book editions in The Washington Manual Subspecialty Consult Series. Written by residents/fellows and reviewed by faculty at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, the Subspecialty Consult Series includes a total of 11 titles each focused on a different disease area running the gamut from cardiology to hematology and oncology.

The seven revised titles include: Allergy, Asthma and Immunology; Nephrology; Hematology and Oncology; Gastroenterology; Endocrinology; Infectious Disease; and Rheumatology. LWW plans to release all of the other titles in the series in eBook format in concurrence with their regular revisions.

The Washington Manual Subspecialty Consult Series follows the same format and clinical practicality as the Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics, now in its 33rd edition and established for more than 65 years as the “Bible” of the medical ward. These concise and practical references are tailored for fellows, residents and medical students rotating through their subspecialty services. They are also ideal references for medical professionals specialising in a certain area.

The Washington Manual Subspecialty Consult Series is delivered in a timesaving, quick-reference style. Each volume contains a synopsis of symptoms, signs, and problems encountered in a bulleted format for quick salient points as well as new standards in the treatment for each specialty area. With the advent of eBook availability, the Subspecialty Consult Series will offer the same portability, comprehensiveness, and ease of access that make the Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics a favourite on-call resource for house staff, faculty, medical students, and other health care professionals around the world.

Alongside the print editions, all 7 titles are available in eBook versions through Amazon Kindle or Barnes and Noble's Nook to have the accessibility of the content anytime, anywhere. With the free Kindle or Nook app content can be downloaded to any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.
