ACS launches enhanced edition of Bytesize Science video series -

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has launched a new edition of its Bytesize Science video series, which has reportedly been fascinating thousands of viewers of all ages since its inception in 2007. Bytesize Science is said to have received accolades from the National Science Teachers Association, the National Education Association, the National Science Foundation and the US Environmental Protection Agency.

The 2011 update refreshes Bytesize with a new logo and theme ("Uncover the Chemistry All Around You"); shorter episodes that package information in 3-4 minute snippets to better fit fast-paced lifestyles; and a sharpened focus on chemistry's often unrecognised role in everyday life. That focus is on food, energy, the environment, health and a range of other topics.

Bytesize's bites of the world of science will seek to emphasise research discoveries reported in ACS' suite of 39 peer-reviewed scientific journals and its weekly newsmagazine, Chemical & Engineering News; hands-on demonstrations of scientific phenomena; and interviews with scientists making discoveries that foster a longer, healthier and happier life for people around the world.

Viewed thousands of times each month, the newly re-launched Bytesize Science series features episodes uncovering the chemistry in everyday life.

ACS encourages educators, schools, museums, science centres, news organisations and others to embed links to Bytesize Science on their websites.
