Scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group (NPG), UK, has announced free access to 16 relevant clinical journals to hospitals and research institutions in Japan. The move follows the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan recently.
The publisher has initiated either seamless IP access or password access to these journals to over 230 hospitals in Japan. Arrangements have been made to provide access to the 144 hospitals in the National Hospital Organization and 94 hospitals of the Japan Red Cross Society. Additionally, NPG will approach large hospital groups in Japan, offering access to these journals free of charge until September 30, 2011.
The journals include the eight clinical Nature Reviews journals, and academic and society journals which publish content related to the ongoing situation in Japan. Relevant content in the journals include studies on trauma dialysis in earthquake zones, published in Kidney International, and research on radiation injuries.
Institutions and hospitals in Japan who wish to gain access to these titles can contact NPG at institutions@natureasia.com.
